This shrine is under construction, in much the same way as is the ongoing process of analysys of the virgin AP80's performance with an eye towards carefully planned modifications which will (we hope) dramatically improve the sound quality of this big ol' rackmounted amp.
It is at this time our considered opinion that despite the fact that the output transformer is very much too small for full power low frequency reproduction, we should keep the original transformer in place, and massage the amplifier into a midrange and high frequency unit of exceptional clarity and agility. We welcome any comments.
